Ericka de Groot

Born and raised in Curacao, was the youngest of five children. At a very young age she began making different types of handcrafts, a skill she inherited from her mother.

After her studies in the Netherlands, she would often come home from work and would spend her leisure time relaxing by making miniatures. Ericka completed various courses designed to enhance her knowledge and expertise in the arts.

With her special interest in miniatures she eventually became an expert miniaturist. Ericka would create scenes in scales 1:12, 1:24 and 1:72. She also enjoys creating mini dioramas. The dioramas reinforce the illusion through depth perception. She uses the mini dioramas to represent historical events, nature scenes and for multiple other purposes. Her paintings belong to the genre impressionism in oil or watercolor.
